Purpose: Jayou, which means freedom in Korean is the foundation of our club. As we try to further educate others and ourselves about the human rights abuses occurring in North Korea, we also strive to raise funds for organizations such as LiNK(www.linkglobal.org), and to support other organizations and churches already involved in addressing the human rights issue in North Korea, especially in the immediate campus area.

Midwest Asian American Students Union - UIUC

Purpose: The Midwest Asian American Students Union (MAASU) was started in response to a need for political unity among Asian American students in the Midwest. By 1990, there were more than 20 universities in the Midwest that had formed APA organizations. Some had been around for years; some were in their infancy. Students felt there needed to be an organization that would support the growth of these organizations and organize APA and other interested students in the Midwest for political activism.
