AEMS (pronounced “aims”)
assists educators at all levels, from elementary to undergraduate,
in finding multimedia resources for learning and teaching about
Asia.
AEMS maintains an extensive online
database containing more than
5,000 records for DVDs, video cassettes, CD-ROMs, audio cassettes,
and curriculum units with audio-visual components that are useful
for learning and teaching about Asia. Each record includes information
on where to obtain the item.
The AEMS
Media Library collection includes approximately 1,000
of these titles, available for loan to anyone in Central Illinois.
AEMS publishes an online newsletter, AEMS
News and Reviews, with reviews of recent Asia-related films and multimedia
resources, as well as essays on teaching about Asia.
AEMS also conducts teacher workshops, co-hosts an annual Asian
film festival with EAPS, and much more. Please see the AEMS
website to explore our services. And drop by our office and library at
805 W. Pennsylvania, Urbana, any time! |
